Sunni and Shia leaders have said on Saturday here that Incholi’s twin blasts was another incontrovertible proof that it is not sectarianism but the terrorism that always hit the Sunni and Shia Muslims alike.
Renowned Sunni religious scholars namely Maulana Shaukat Mughal and Allama Qazi Ahmed Noorani and Awami Muslim League’s Mehfooz Yar Khan were those Sunni notables who jointly addressed a press conference with Allama Hassan Zafar Naqvi of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen at the site of the Friday night’s blasts.
“Claiming the responsibility by Tehrik-e-Taghut-e-Pakistan, an outlawed terrorist group, is a proof that Pakistani nation be they are Shiites or Sunnis, are the targets of TTP’s terrorism,” said Allama Hassan Zafar Naqvi, deputy secretary general and central spokesman for the MWM. Salman Mujtaba of Markazi Tanzeem-e-Aza and Allama Deedar Jalbani of the MWM were also present.
The Sunni and Shia leaders said they were united and they reject the notion of any Sunni-Shia tension let alone the war.
They said that the impression had it that all terrorist attacks were perpetrated by those terrorists who enjoy government’s patronage and one example of this patronage is Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah who must be expelled from provincial cabinet.
They said that attack on Ashura procession after a blasphemous hate-speech against Imam Hussain (AS) and subsequent chain of events and the demand for ban on Eid Milad ul Nabi (peace be upon him) and Azadari processions proved a deep-rooted machination against the Shiites and Sunnis,” he asserted.
They further said that the illegitimate demands of no holidays on Ashura and Eid Milad ul Nabi (PBUH) and no procession and public congregations on said two days have come from the people who themselves demand holidays on the pretexts of some anniversaries and freely take out rallies at will and resort to violence in the name of protests throughout the year.
They said that 3 martyrs of Incholi Tragedy were laid to rest, funeral of another two victims was delayed due to the fact their relatives were out of country and identity of remaining two martyrs was not established so far. They said that more than 30 Shiites and Sunnis were injured.
They urged the media not to invite those terrorists who are leaders of outlawed/banned terrorist organizations. They said that media coverage of outlawed terrorist groups’ leaders was tantamount to their projection and ethics and norms of journalism don’t allow journalists to do so. They said that all Muslims were united and the terrorists were isolated and cornered group. They said that media persons should not ignore the fact that journalists including Salik Jafari also embraced martyrdom due to Yazidi takfiri terrorist attacks.
They thanked people of Pakistan by observance of a completely peaceful mourning day. He said that fateha and Quran Khwani were held to rest departed souls in eternal peace. They said that black flags were hoisted.
